Brownlow 2015
Comfy pants? Check. Dinner on my lap? Check. Eyes glued to the screen with everyone around me under strict instructions to not talk to me while the Red Carpet is on? Check.
I LOVE the Brownlow (or any media-televised red carpet event). It's my guilty pleasure. I have a bit of a tradition of giving my family & friends a running commentary via social media. I choose to believe they love it. So here it is in blog form!
NOTE: I have only selected a 'BEST DRESSED' list. I feel bad for any girl who has been pampered and prepped for the big event only to be slammed by judgemental critics. Positive vibes only guys.
MOST ENTERTAINING: ok, first & foremost this little guy who goes by the name Lochie Sunderland (and was AFL NAB Auskicker of the year last year for those of you playing along at home) stole my heart on the red carpet. I'd go as far to say he did a better job interviewing than other hosts. Let's face it, he asked the questions we all really wanted to know. "what are you doing in your school holidays?" "did you know you played 216 games before I was born?"
SHOW STOPPING: Jessie Habermann. No more needs to be said.
BEST BUMPS: Elise Swallow & Nadia Bartel. Any girl who can don a gown and rock the red carpet whilst in their last trimester deserves to be on the best dressed list I say! Personally I would have been at home in my trackies eating chocolate.
BEST LOW NECKLINE: Anthea Pellow. This girl made the plunging neckline classy not tacky. I'm a sucker for velvet.
BEST USE OF COLOUR: Keeley Meehan, Justine Murphy, Sarah Dunn & Emma Clapham. Different shapes, sizes & styles but so refreshing to see something other than "white & bridal"! Well done ladies.
BEST BLACK: Kylie Brown - LOVE those sleeves!
SPOTLIGHT ON WOMEN'S SPORT: Tayla Harris. I'll be honest (not nasty) and say this wasn't my favourite look of the night BUT I thought it was awesome they made a point of spotlighting women's football in such a public way. Baby steps ladies!
FAVOURITE TWO OF THE NIGHT: Hayley Adcock & Pip Marques. Love love love love LOVE.
Oh and special mention to this guy, Nat Fyfe. Apparently he's the reason this red carpet was happening.
